HOLISTIC MASSAGE

& ANATOMYand PHYSIOLOGY
(ITEC DIPLOMA)

This course is the foundation course for the student who wishes to pursue specialist areas of massage and holistic therapies.
It gives the student all the underpinning practical and theoretical knowledge necessary to embark with confidence on other areas of massage therapy.

the appropriate legislation applicable to massage treatment
methods of consultation
recognise and explain common ailments and contraindications to massage
appropriate client care
the correct hygiene procedures
the classical massage movements and their physiological and psychological effects
the structures they are working over and their function
the history of the development of Swedish (classica### massage
other complementary therapies and the ways in which they are performed
the importance of referral procedures
the importance of giving appropriate home care advice after treatment
how to deal with First Aid emergencies in the clinic (candidates are advised to take a St Johns Ambulance or Red Cross First Aid Certificate
the possible reactions to treatment

the importance of telling the client about the possible reactions to the treatment

Holistic Massage Case Studies

5 clients must be treated 4 times each for full body massage and outcomes recorded

 

 
Course duration
50 hours incuding classwork, projects and coursework
   
 
Students will also study Client Care and Business Awareness for a further care 50 hours incuding classwork, projects and coursework.
